The film Where Is the Euphrates, Son? was produced on the basis of a journalist, actor, screenwriter Rօuben Pashinyan’s story. The film touches upon the topic of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 telling about the Armenian grandfather tourist from the US, who during his visit in Armenia, unsuccessfully tries to find out from his guide, where the river Euphrates is. The river, in which, as it turns out at the end of the movie, the family of the old man and many other Armenians died ...
The question turns to a conversation about what is a homeland, where Armenia is, and what are the guarantees for the continuation of Armenian family?
Years later, the guide receives an invitation from the US to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition to the memory of prominent Armenian composers, including his own grandfather, composer. There he meets with old man Hakob. This conversation turns out to be fateful for Ruben - although he had thought to move to the US forever, as a result, he refused to remain there. The words of the old man about the Motherland, about Armenia, where there is unity, where home is, were very impressive for him and changed his worldview.
